i heard pulse vu takes 5.5v max and cold cathodes need 12v so the cant work together. but couldnt you take the positive wire and split it into 2 wires one wire goes to th pulse vu for 5.5v then to a 12v spot on the mobo with the proper resistor?

regardless the cathodes run on an inverter so all that would happen is you would damage the inverter by changing the voltage.

Pulse VU 2X can take 3A and cost $22
Power extenders can add 3A to either one and cost $8

I have no experience with the pulse VU's but aparantly they just create a ground, not a source of power.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
